NBCUniversal Archives & Collections – Graduate Intern

During Summer 2014, I interned with the NBCUniversal Archives & Collections department. I loved working with the team and all of the costumes, props, set decoration, movie posters, press kits and more! I spent the first month processing items from the TV show 30 Rock and various other NBCU properties. I assessed and described items, recommended some for de-accession, took photographs, created database records and linked those records to the photographs and eventually put the object into archival storage. I assisted on two exhibitions helping dress mannequins and display props for FIDM’s Emmy Nominated Costume Design exhibition and at The NBCUniversal Experience, an exhibit space at Universal Studios Hollywood. In the second and last month of my internship, I focused on processing paper materials ranging from press books to photographs to press kits to movie posters. The entire experience was fantastic and I learned so much from my managers, Eric Chin and Jessica Taylor, and the entire NBCU team.
