During Fall 2014, in my third semester as a HRC Film Archives volunteer, I worked with the Gone With the Wind Fan Mail project. We have thousands of letters written by GWTW fans in the David O. Selznick collection. The letters are written to the cast and crew of the movie, giving casting suggestions, recommending friends and family (and sometimes themselves) for roles, and many notes on how to speak in a proper Southern accent. I preserved, digitized, transcribed and created database records for hundreds of these letters.
