AMIA at UT Austin – Co-Founder and Former President & Secretary

I co-founded the AMIA (Association of Moving Image Archivists) at UT Austin Student Chapter with Lauren Dest and Julian Etienne Gomez Baranda in October 2013, with faculty assistance from Dr. Caroline Frick, President of AMIA. We wanted to create a group specifically for students interested in moving image archives. We toured Austin Studios, the Harry Ransom Center’s Film Archives and the Texas Archive of the Moving Image. We held a professional panel featuring alumni working in moving image libraries and archives. During my involvement with the chapter, I served as Secretary and then President. I organized and promoted many of our events designing print materials, writing email blasts and posting to social media.
